A door handle on a timber door
Nundah, Clayfield & Northgate

Two minutes from the village, ten from the airport, awake at every hour in between.

Buckby Street sits behind the Sandgate Road strip. A lot of our work here runs on airport time rather than office hours, and the price is the same either way.

The work

Six calls, roughly in order of frequency

Village units, pre-war cottages on the Clayfield side, and a steady run of shift workers from the airport precinct.

01

House and unit lockouts

Front doors, balcony sliders and the older timber doors on the Clayfield streets. Opened by pick or bypass so the hardware keeps working afterwards.

02

Home from a flight, keys gone

It happens constantly here. Keys left in a hire car, in a hotel, or in a bag that did not arrive. We cut a new key to your lock on site, at three in the morning if that is when you land.

03

Car lockouts

In the driveway, at Toombul or in the long-stay car parks. Air wedges and long reach tools, and replacement keys cut and programmed beside the car for most makes.

04

Lost keys and rekeying

Cut to the lock, or the whole barrel rekeyed so the missing key is dead everywhere. If the keys went missing while you were interstate, rekey rather than hope.

05

Village shops and cafes

Changeovers along Sandgate Road, glass door patch locks, roller shutters and restricted key systems, done outside trading hours.

06

Deadlocks and upgrades

Deadbolts to AS 4145, keyed-alike sets so one key runs the house and the garage, and restricted profiles where copies should not be possible.

How a call-out runs

Three steps, whatever the hour

1

Ring and describe it

The door or the car, and where you are. That is enough for one firm price and an arrival time we actually believe.

2

We open it

Picks and bypass first. Nothing is drilled without telling you and quoting the replacement in the same breath.

3

Pay what we said

Card or cash at the door. Landing at 4am does not make it cost more.

Where we go

Nundah and the suburbs along the airport line.

Ten to twenty minutes for most of these from Buckby Street, and the roads are empty at the hours we are usually called.

Straight answers

The questions people ask off a red-eye

Can you really come at 3am?

Yes, and a locksmith answers the phone rather than a booking service. A lot of our week is exactly that call.

Is it more expensive overnight?

No. The quote at 3am is the quote you would get at 3pm.

My keys are somewhere between here and Sydney.

We cut a new key to your lock on site, no original needed. If the keys had anything identifying the address on them, we rekey instead so the missing set stops working.

Will the lock be damaged?

Almost never. Picking and bypass come first, and drilling only after we have told you and quoted the replacement.

Do you do unit doors in the village?

Yes, your own door. If the lobby or a fob is the problem that goes through the building manager, and we will tell you what to ask for.

What ID do you need?

Something matching the address, or ID plus proof of ownership for a car. Everyone is asked, every time.

Standing at your own front door with no way in?

One call gets a locksmith from Buckby Street, a fixed price and a time that holds at any hour.
